SunDanzer or SunFrost? Which is the better DC-powered solar refrigerator?

SunDanzer has been around since 1999 and doing great business I might add, you'll find plenty of good reviews and happy customers with there products lasting many many years after purchase. From my perspective SunDanzer has allot to offer if you want a serious unit off the grid that's going to keep things cool, the only downer is there units aren't that big if your use to your normal fridge around the house.

(Battery-powered combination refrigerator and freezer, 12/24V

Gross Capacity: 4.7 cu. ft./134 liters

Refrigerator Capacity: 4 cu. ft./115 liters

Freezer Capacity: .7 cu. ft./19 liters

Product Dimensions (W x D x H): 23.5 x 26 x 33 inches / 59.7 x 66 x 83.8 cm

Shipping Dimensions (W x D x H): 26 x 28 x 40 inches / 66 x 71.1 x 101.6 cm

street price around- $800-1000

If your willing to settle for a Chest Fridge or Freezer you can get one up to 8.1 cu ft. Which I think is definitely needed in terms of having enough room for your food:

details are-

Battery-powered refrigerator or freezer, 12/24V

Gross Capacity: 8.1 cu. ft./229 liters

Product Dimensions (W x D x H): 46.9 x 26.2 x 34.5 inches / 119 x 66.5 x 87.6 cm

Shipping Dimensions (W x D x H): 49 x 30 x 39 inches / 124 x 76 x 99 cm

Shipping Weight: 145 lb. / 66 kg.

Units per 20' container: 28

Units per 40' container: 56

street price around $900-$1200+

But if your looking for something smaller to fit in your RV or Camper I think the combination Fridge/Freezer is a good deal and won't eat your batteries dead too fast and will stay around for the long Haul..

SunFrost also has some great products, more on the expensive end- anywhere between $2,000 - $3400 a unit.

There craftsmanship is very good, and the majority of units give the option of purchasing AC and DC powered or just DC powered which is a great feature.
(12 or 24 volt DC, or 110 or 220 volt AC)

for more info go to: http://www.sunfrost.com

*Both units don't use allot of power-
The Sun Frost
RF16 typically uses around 15 KWH per month. In contrast, the
average refrigerator in a home typically consumes about 90 KWH
per month.

Your looking at saving around 80% a month off what your normal fridge consumes with one of these units, which is pretty amazing!!

but for me with a limited budget and not allot of space right now I have to prefer the SunDanzer. http://www.sundanzer.com

Hope this helps you guys..

till next time,
